Account Deletion Instructions

This guide explains how to delete your Sponsometer account and associated data.

Before You Delete

Before deleting your account, please note:

• Your account and personal information will be removed
• Pledges that have not been charged will be cancelled, and nothing will be charged
• Donations that have already been charged stay in the event's financial record, as bookkeeping law requires, and your name on the event page is switched to "Anonymous"
• This action cannot be undone

Deletion Process

1. Request Deletion

   • Send an email to emil@ingerslev.io
   • Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request"
   • Send the request from your registered email address

2. Verification

   • We will verify your identity
   • You'll receive a confirmation email with a confirmation code
   • Respond to the confirmation email with the code

3. Processing

   • Your account will be scheduled for deletion
   • Processing takes up to 90 days
   • You'll receive a final confirmation email when completed

What Gets Deleted

The following data will be permanently removed:

• Account information (name, email, profile picture, preferred language)
• Login connections (Google, Microsoft, Facebook, GitHub or email link)
• Pledges that were never charged

What Gets Retained

Some information is kept, without your name where possible:

• Records of charged donations, for at least 5 years as the Danish Bookkeeping Act requires
• The payment records Stripe and the charity hold for those donations, under their own rules
• Aggregate event statistics
• Server logs and error reports, for a limited time
